Peter and I share the same philosophies of sales leadership and performance, as well as many on life, too. He was a true visionary and gentleman. I wish I had taken him up on his many requests to come visit in the Bahamas. Peter, God Bless you and thanks for your contributions here on earth. Memory by Shelley Malone Aug 2, 2014 My biggest memory of Peter was that wonderful smile and mischievous glint in his eyes. Miss you, Peter.
Memory by John Michie Oct 26, 2013 My brother Peter will be a hard act to follow but if any friends if his and Trish are in England or the Bahamas please contact us by e-mail jj.michie@virgin(dot)net (replace (dot) with .) and we will hopefully be able to meet and try by draining a bottle or two to pay our respects to his memory !!!!
John and Jo Memory by Brian Cook Aug 24, 2013 It was the smile, the laugh and the twinkle in his eyes that got me.
Incredibly smart and funny, good at tennis, perfect at living life.
An exceptional sales professional whose biggest deal was winning the love of Trish.
Peter gave me my start in tech sales and I will never forgive him for it!!!
Peter and Trish convinced my wife, Barb, to try Indian food for the firt time and bum burners are now a regular event in our lives.
After Peter and Trish departed Canada, I felt comfort in knowing that they were out there making a difference in the lives of everyone that had the good fortune to meet them.
I will never forget him.
Cookie Memory by Peter Coy Aug 19, 2013 Peter's love for sailing, of the freedom of the wild ocean, made me think of the song I wrote for another sailing friend who passed too soon:
Peter Gilbert (Requiem for a sailor)available on Bandcamp.com> Biff McGruff> Peter Gilbert.
Sail into the sunset friend Far beyond the outer reef Outside the cross-chop and confusion To the lovely Ocean swell.
Porpoise play behind your wake Mermaids gather at your bow A strong clear wind fills up your sail No shoals ahead, one course to take.
[Chorus]
Sail away beyond the stars Sail upon a sea of light Endless beauty fills your eyes Angels guide you to your peace
We stand becalmed upon the shore And fill the ocean with our tears And yet we smile to think of you Far beyond the outer reef
Far beyond the outer reef Far beyond the outer reef And yet we smile to think of you Far beyond the outer reef
Remembered always with a smile Remembered always as a friend You followed close upon your dream And steered a course so straight and true Memory by Bob Harlond Aug 19, 2013 I met and got to know Peter back in the late 80's from a seminar he was running in Montreal. Both struck a chord and enjoyed eachothers company. Time flew by and we reconnected last year as we are in process of selling in BC Canada and moving to France. He offered help, tips and a willing ear. We have chatted on line a lot since and recently just before his sad passing he was joking about the tour de france and his nearness to it and that now he has a willing companion on his beloved bike rides with Trish getting involved. His love for Trish even to an outsider was all encompassing. Molly was a firm #2. We laughed and sent pics and all of his were of Trish. Peter has known much in his lifespan and lived well and happily and sadly now on my next French trip the meeting will not happen. A great loss to everyone. My heart goes out to Trish and to all of his close friends of which there were many. I know you are out there someplace Peter and I lift a glass to you - heck maybe three!!! The world will be a liitle bit different now and not in a better way!! Memory by Ted Lennox / Cora Epping Aug 19, 2013 We met Peter a long time ago, and were honored to be able to attend Trish's and Peter's wedding, where the groom was late since he was out drinking with his new father in law.... We came to love Peter's zest for life and sailed a couple of time with Peter on ZUZU, getting caught once in a Hurricane... Peter never lost his cool and always reminded me of a younger Dudley Moore. We had a shared love of Golden Retrievers and one of their first dogs Winston... Winny..
I had always wanted to visit them in the islands, but never had the chance to live and love life the way Peter and Trish did.
Ted and Cora Memory by Janice and Ernie Greenwood Aug 15, 2013 We met Peter on Tiloo beach while we were barbequing lunch. Thus the beginning of a wonderful relationship. So many memories of dinners together over the years with visits in Hope Town & Lagnes. We were so blessed to have shared so many wonderful times with Peter & Trish. Such a sincerely beautiful person. We will miss him dearly. • "Life is eternal and love is immortal; And death is only a horizon, And a horizon is nothing save the limit of our sight." - Rossiter W. Raymond Memory by David Cunningham Aug 13, 2013 I met Peter when I joined a company called Ogivar in 1986, I was a rookie 20-year old salesman and he was, as always, there to be the guiding hand and help establish the company's new office in Toronto.
Ogivar didn't last; but our friendship did and I was very happy to reconnect with Peter in the past few years and have the opportunity to spend time with him.
To me, Peter was the person we all dream of being. Caring, smart, funny, adventurous, accomplished, down to earth and happy. Just very happy to be who he was and it was plainly obvious to anyone who ever met him. I will be forever happy that I knew him. He was a special soul, and I will miss him terribly. Memory by Sharon Allamby Aug 9, 2013 I worked with Pete and Trish in the basement of their home on Bywood Ave (at CCMC, and was with them when Performax was founded). It was like a light being switched on when Peter came home and rushed downstairs to work - he was always so enthusiastic! He brought his particular light to many lives and Trish was always his shining light. Although Pete is no longer with us, he has left so much behind that none of us will forget him or his achievements. I always think of Pete when I enjoy a “kadhai ghosh” (lamb curry) - he was one of the few people who enjoyed the hot spices as much as I do (tears from pepper this time as well as laughter). We had such fun - I am thankful for the chance to have been a part of his life, both as a friend and professionally. Keep the faith, Trish. Memory by Lynn Bayer Aug 9, 2013 So many memories from 1977 'til now. All good. Peter put so much positive energy into all he did. He was a true renaissance man. I loved him dearly, and cannot yet imagine the world without him in it. He brought Trish and my Nev into my life, and for that alone I am grateful. I shall miss him terribly. Memory by Harvey & Chris Aug 9, 2013 Pete's warming smile and quick wit will be missed but always remembered. His love for his friends and family.....and especially Trish, was so obvious......and fuelled his joie de vie. Although we only saw Pete on rare visits after the Michie's relocated from Toronto, it was always just like yesterday.....we just picked up. We are confident that the warm, wonderful memories of a fulfilled life together and the vision of his smiling face will help Trish during this difficult time and give her the strength to live the way Pete would have wanted her to live.......life to the fullest. THE BIGGEST HUGS TO TRISH. Memory by Sanjeev and Anita from Toronto the host Aug 8, 2013 Full of life jolly best remarks about my restaurant Worst service bad food see you next week every Friday whole gang used to come Never forget Peter and Trish We will miss you Memory by Amnon Zohar Aug 8, 2013 I was Peter's (and Trish's) business partner in Performax between 1992 and 1996. But this is only a CV item. Seldom in life does a professional relationship develop into a genuine friendship and may I say love. Yes I loved Peter for his integrity, his professionalism, his zest for life his eternal optimism and the fun of being in his company in business and in leisure.Business partnership are sometime tricky but not with Peter and Trish. Since we heard the awful news, Alis and I have been replaying in our minds ,the period we worked and travelled together and remember it vividly as one of the happiest times in our lives. Good bye my friend.
Amnon
