Memories
Memory by Mike Lilly Oct 9, 2016 Michael Gough was a neighbor of mine in the mid to late fifties. It was on Huston Street in a district of NOHO-- now called Toluca Woods. I was in my late teens when he purchased a house slightly catty-cornered across the street from my parents home. It was an unusual place with a very small dwelling set way back on a long lot. Straight away, he set out to build a duplex -- or was it trip-plex? -- in the frontal part of the lot. He lived elsewhere until the construction was completed, and while the work was underway he'd come by in his large Ford stationwagon and inspect the progress with the help of a spotlight on top that vehicle. It wasn't his only set of wheels. He also had a Jaguar convertible of the 120 series, which I thought was the most splendid automobile ever. Beautiful it was, and so was his blond and spirited girlfriend at the time. How I envied that guy. I even spoke with him a few times and he was very amenable. His passing is a sad event. It was good he had such a long and productive live. May he rest in peace. Memory by Kadiro Mar 26, 2015 new entry into Cake of the Week last week.
