Biography
Obituary - O'CONNELL, Armour (Army) - died peacefully, with his family by his side, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Saturday, August 9, 2008.
Armour O'Connell, in his 84th year, was the beloved husband of Marlene (McAllister O'Connell. Dear father of Gary (married to Colleen) O'Connell, Micheal O'Connell, Randy (married to Beverly) O'Connell and Catherine O'Connell.
Cherished grandpa of Debbie, Ashley, Melissa and Jenna. Dear great-grandpa of Christopher and Noah. Survived by brother, Huck (married to Mary) O'Connell. Proceeded by his brother, Jack and sister, Betty. Army was a Second World War Veteran and a Hospice volunteer since 1980. Also, he was awarded the Canada Volunteer Award.
A vigil was held for Armour at the funeral home on August 12th 2008, and a Funeral Mass took place at St. Joseph's Church, 409 Paisley Rd, Guelph on Wednesday, August 13th 2008 at 10.30am. In lieu of flowers, donations went to the Hospice Wellington or the Canadian Cancer Society.
